Referrals
The rules every referral follows, the file you send each month, and how the authorization queue is moving. Counts only: no person referred is named here.
Referral rules in force
Approved with the program set up. A change to any rule comes to you first.
| Rule | What it says | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Referral received | A program referral is logged in the intake register once, on the day it is received. | Approved definition |
| Required intake items | Consent form, insurance card, referral document and emergency contact, complete one business day before the first appointment. | In force |
| Referral document | Staff check that it is attached and legible. They do not read or judge what it says. | In force |
| Accepted exception | A hold the regional intake lead accepts as administrative under the agreed rule. The exception and its approver go into the handoff brief. | In force |
| Eligibility file | You send the program eligibility file on the first business day of each month: October 1, then November 2. | Due today |
| Program boundary | Administration only. Clinical matters stay with the treating professionals. | In force |
